About Us
What do we do, and what are our goals?

We have four major goals, which we plan to accomplish in the following manners:

(1) To promote engagement within the research both locally in the medical center and within Rice, by publishing:
-
Research conducted by Rice students, both in the past and in the present;
-
Interviews with local researchers about their work;
-
Discussions and interviews with students who have worked in specific labs in order to gain a deeper understanding of the lab and what it does

(2) To foster interest and interdisciplinary thinking within neuroscience at Rice, by:
-
Publishing articles (and/or art pieces) written by Rice students on local neuroscience research and/or events
-
Publishing interdisciplinary works relating to neuroscience

(3) To encourage exploration of the various career paths within neuroscience; via:
-
A list of resources for upperclassmen to find work as neuroscience majors;
-
Interviews with Rice alumni or students regarding their path to their present profession

(4) To establish a real-time information base on everything relating to the neuroscience major within Rice, including:
-
A comprehensive calendar of all neuroscience events;
-
Semester-wise neuroscience class information (requirements fulfilled, distributions, credits, student study tips and reviews);
-
Student reviews and leader information on all neuroscience clubs

Future plans include encouraging neuroscience research among high schoolers in Houston via competitions and/or publications of research conducted by local Houston students, and much more!
